Watch the new video explaining Collaborative Family Law

Family dispute resolution week or Family DR Week is this week, namely the 24th to 28th of November 2014

Dispute Resolution Week was started by Resolution which is an organisation of Specialist Family Solicitors to assist in promoting to the public the benefits of resolving the issues arising out of separation and divorce in a more amicable way and without the need to go to court.

Dispute Resolution Week has now been running for several years. This afternoon I will be attending a reception which is being held by  Collaborative Family Lawyers who are based in and around Exeter and East Devon and Mid and South Devon. This is part of Dispute Resolution Week. Family Mediators and Collaborative Family lawyers will be holding events around the country this week.

The new Collaborative Law Video

As part of Dispute Resolution Week a new video has been released which was developed by Resolution,  Protocol IT, Professor Elizabeth Stokoe and the MoJ and Kerf Design. The intention is to help explain the benefits of Collaborative Family Law in a straightforward way.

I have embedded the video onto this page and onto the main page on this website which discusses the option of Collaborative Family Law. Please take the time to watch it.

Collaborative Family Law in Devon

As well as being a family mediator I have also been a Collaborative Family Lawyer for a number of years and indeed I was one of the first handful of solicitors to train in Collaborative Family Law in Devon.

Collaborative family law is not the right process for everyone but it is a very good process for some. If you want to know more, please give me a call.

I also attach a link to the page on the Resolution website which explains about the different ways of dealing with the issues on separation and divorce;  http://www.resolution.org.uk/editorial.asp?page_id=330
