Mediation for family cases – Latest Legal Aid Guidance

Additional mediation funding

The first single mediation session following a Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) can now be entirely funded by legal aid, where one party is financially eligible and the other party is not. This new arrangement started from 3 November 2014.

This additional Mediation funding is available in all cases where the first mediation session after the Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) takes place from 3 November. Where more than one mediation session is required the non legally aided participant will be required to pay the applicable fees.The latest guidance is reproduced below

We are the only Mediation Service contracted with the Legal Aid Aid Agency which is based in East Devon. From our office in Honiton we assist clients from places such as Sidmouth, Axminster, Ottery Sy Mary and Seaton, From our branch offices in Exeter and Taunton, we also assist clients in those locations.
