Jenny Wilson - About Me
Jenny WilsonParalegal Rate per hour £120 + VAT
I work as a paralegal in the children’s care team at Ian Walker Family Law and Mediation Solicitors.
My professional background
Before joining the firm, I completed a Law and French degree at the University of Bristol, before working at Virgin Atlantic Airways as Cabin Crew in order to save money to complete the Bar Professional Training Course at City University, London. I completed the BPTC in August 2020 and will be called to the Bar in May 2021.
Why I chose a career in the law
I chose to pursue a career in law because the variety of cases and clients mean that no day will ever be the same.
What I most enjoy about my role
It is a privilege being able to use my legal knowledge to support numerous clients through the most difficult times of their lives. Seeing positive outcomes at the end of a long legal process makes all the hard work worth it.

My career highlight/career ambitions
I aim to start training as a solicitor in September 2021, with a view to qualifying as a solicitor at Ian Walker Family Law and Mediation Solicitors no later than September 2023.
What I enjoy doing in my spare time
In my spare time, I thoroughly enjoy marathon running and completed my first marathon in May 2019. I also recently ran the Edinburgh Marathon Festival Virtual Challenge and completed it in 4 hours 11 minutes and 36 seconds! I also occasionally fly light aircraft at the weekend and one day hope to earn my Private Pilots Licence.
Something that I have done in my spare time of which I am very proud
In my free time, I have also volunteered for the National Centre for Domestic Violence as a McKenzie Friend, supporting vulnerable clients at court as well as volunteering at HMP Pentonville teaching prisoners debating.
