About Julia Sacco

What is my role?

I help individuals from a range of backgrounds achieve the results that are best for them and their families. I make sure that each client feels that they have a person to talk to about any issues that they are facing and to work out a solution together.

I joined Ian Walker Family Law and Mediation because I had heard about their approach and felt that their objectives were aligned with mine. I also recognised that their constructive approach and dedication to Resolution was in the best interests of families that are experiencing difficult times and that this has also been recognised by various organisations around England and Wales due to the number of awards and nominations that the firm has received.

My professional background

I qualified as a solicitor at Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice in Cardiff.  I have also worked as a solicitor in Personal injury Litigation and Family Law at the Co-operative Legal Services. I have chosen to specialise in Family Law because I feel that this is the area of law that I find the most rewarding.

I enjoy seeing the journeys that client’s go through and knowing that I have been there to help them along the way.

I am used to working with local clients and national clients and I am available for meetings either face to face, via Microsoft teams, Zoom and the traditional telephone call. I see location as no barrier for maintaining a personal service.

Why I chose a career in Law

I have always been interested in Law and starting studying it at A-Level initially and volunteered at my local Citizens Advice Bureau. I knew that it was the career for me because I enjoyed listening to the wide ranging issues that people would come into the CAB  with and knowing that I could find a solution for them.

I enjoy learning about people and ways to handle different situations and adapting my style to each scenario. I specialised in Family Law because it offers a wide variety of cases and touches on many different areas of people’s lives.

What I enjoy most about my role

I enjoy talking to clients and developing my relationships with them and hearing their news. I also enjoy learning about different family dynamics and working through what is best for client’s individual circumstances. I also like hearing how far clients have come since first instructing me and knowing that I have helped them on their journey.

A tip for prospective clients

I would say to give as much information as possible because your solicitor can decide which information is material to your case and to ask questions if you are unsure of anything.

What I enjoy doing in my spare time

I have two young children and most of my spare time is focused around being a mum. I like talking them for walks and doing arts and crafts and baking with them.
